Il Fantastico Mondo di Fill
Il Fantastico Mondo di Fill is an illustrated children’s book written by Franco Barberis, following the adventures of Fill, a curious creature whose imagination and desire to explore often lead him into unexpected situations.
Working closely with the author, I was responsible for the book’s entire visual development, from character design and illustrations to the cover and editorial layout.
The aim was to translate the author’s imaginative world into a cohesive visual experience, combining playful storytelling with an accessible and engaging design for children aged 6 to 11.

The process began with understanding the story and developing the characters through sketches and ongoing conversations with the author. Each illustration was then refined and translated into vector graphics, creating a colourful and consistent visual world.
For the editorial layout, particular attention was given to readability and the relationship between text and illustrations. Large typography and selective emphasis help guide young readers through the story, while the illustrations bring its characters and imaginary settings to life.
The result is a fully illustrated publication where characters, typography, and layout work together to support the narrative, inviting young readers to discover Fill’s world through both words and images.
